Valentine’s Day

Justificativa:
– Valorizar a diversidade cultural de
outros povos e propor uma reflexão sobre valores morais e éticos.
Objetivos:
– Reconhecer o Valentine’s Day como
uma oportunidade de celebrar o amor e a amizade.
– Identificar o Valentine’s Day como
festa dos povos de língua inglesa.
– memorizar os vocábulos novos estudados,
levando o aluno a conscientizar-se do seu repertório de língua inglesa.
– Levar os alunos a reconhecer que o St.
Valentine’s Day é uma data similar ao Dia dos Namorados, celebrada no dia
14 de fevereiro nos Estados Unidos e em alguns países de língua inglesa.
Conteúdos
procedimentais:
– Relatar os principais fatos da história do Valentine’s
Day.
– Reconhecer vocábulos de língua inglesa
referentes ao Valentine’s Day.
– Reconhecer os símbolos da data: coração,
cupido, laços e flores.
– Organizar cartazes com os símbolos do Valentine’s
Day.
– Montar um painel que represente a história
de St. Valentine com base em desenhos feitos pelos próprios alunos.
– Criar um mural em que os alunos possam
fixar corações de cartolina com mensagens criativas dirigidas aos colegas,
amigos e namorados.
– Fazer a dobradura de uma flor e oferecer
para alguém especial neste St. Valentine’s Day.
– Trabalhar a canção Valentine’s chant.
– Organizar um lanche comunitário e realizar
a troca de cartões por meio de sorteio.
– Fotografar, filmar ou registrar o
desenvolvimento do projeto.

The story of Valentine's Day
In all
English-speaking countries, February 14th is a special day for people in love.
It's not a holiday, but it is a very good day for flower shops, sweet shops and
card shops.
On this day, children write their names on cards with
hearts on them, and give them to their classmates and teachers. Usually every
classroom in America in a school have a box with an opening on the top where
children can mail their cards, decorated with pictures of hearts, cupids and
arrows.
Teenagers and adults give cards, presents and flowers
to their boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands and wives, or to someone whom they
have fallen in love with. People usually do not sign these cards and a lot of
time is spent in trying to guess who has sent them!
Nowadays, not only husbands, wives, boyfriends and
girlfriends, but also grandparents, cousins, friends or even acquaintances take
the occasion to express their affection for each other by sending a Valentine
card. The tradition of Valentine's Day is the tradition of love. Celebrating it
in many ways is custom that brings happiness into the lives of many people. It
is a day for fantasy and caprice, and for the confession of tender emotion.
A HISTÓRIA DO VALENTINE 'S DAY
O Valentine's
Day, conhecido como o "Dia dos namorados", é comemorado na
maioria dos países de língua inglesa no dia 14 de fevereiro. É um dia reservado
para os apaixonados e amigos trocarem presentes, como chocolates, cartões e
flores.
São
Valentino foi um padre da Igreja católica que realizava secretamente casamentos
dos soldados do exército do imperador Claudius II. Esse imperador não permitia
que os seus soldados fossem casados, pois acreditava que soldados solteiros
guerreavam melhor. Por essa desobediência, São Valentino foi preso e condenado
à morte.
O
Cupido é um símbolo dessa data, pois é filho de Vênus, a deusa romana do amor e
da beleza. Ele sempre aparece nos cartões de Valentine’s Day. Há outros
símbolos para essa data: coração, flores vermelhas, laços e pombos.
